Quentin Tarantino Says Marvel Actors Are Not Movie Stars – DebtInflation

the mind behind pulp fiction (1994), Quentin Tarantinoagain criticized the Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM), but this time he went against the actors who have been part of that world.

On November 3, Tarantino had criticized Marvel Studios by assuring that he would never work with them, explaining that “you have to be a workforce to do those things, I’m not a day laborer. I’m not looking for a job”.

Now the director has become involved in a controversy by criticizing the actors who are part of the UCM. His comment came from the podcast 2 Bears 1 Cave which is under the hands of the driver Tom Segura.

On that occasion, Tarantino assured that the real stars of Marvel movies are their superheroes and not the people behind the interpretation of them.

Talking about today’s famous personalities, Tarantino commented that “part of the ‘marvelization’ of Hollywood is that you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters, but they are not movie stars. Captain America, Thor are the stars. It’s the members of the franchise that become the stars.”

The filmmaker behind kill bill (2003) took advantage of revealing that in his youth he was marvel comics collectorbut who is currently upset with the film industry for only producing superhero movies.

No, I don’t hate them, but I don’t love them either.”, clarified the director when asked about his opinion about the MCU movies.

A Marvel actor responds to criticism

Quentin Tarantino has not been the only filmmaker to criticize the Cinematic Universe of Cinema, since in November 2019 the director Martin Scorsese lashed out at the movies of superheroes and I qualify them as not being cinema.

Despite the criticism that Marvel Studios productions have received, some of its members, such as James Gunn and Tom Holland, have come out in the past in defense of the UCM. However, in the face of the most recent trials it was actor Simu Liu who defended his work.

On November 22, the actor who played shang chi explained in a tweet that if the opportunities only came from directors like Tarantino or Scorsese, he would never have been able to appear in a 400 million dollar movie (almost seven billion Mexican pesos).

“I am in awe of his cinematic genius. They are transcendent authors. But they can’t point at me or anyone.”, explained the actor.

Finally he lashed out saying what he thought about his work on the tape of shang chi (2021).

No movie studio is or will be perfect. But I’m proud to work with one who has made sustained efforts to improve diversity on screen by creating heroes who empower and inspire people from all communities everywhere.”

Until now Tarantino has not responded to Simu Liu’s response for comments against the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
